Bring the Universe into Your Classroom!
This workshop is for both formal and informal educators who work with students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 in the Lower Vancouver Island area.
Discover the Universe, a national astronomy education program, is coming to Victoria this summer! Join us for a hands-on workshop designed to boost your confidence in teaching astronomy. We’ll share resources and activities on essential astronomy concepts, including seasons, phases of the Moon, and what’s visible in the sky. You’ll leave the workshop inspired, with ready-to-use resources and fresh ideas for your classroom! All of our materials are fully bilingual. While the workshop itself will run in English, we are happy to answer any questions in French.
Julie Bolduc-Duval, Director of Discover the Universe, has more than 25 years of experience in astronomy communication and education. An alumna of the University of Victoria’s physics and astronomy program, Julie now resides in Quebec, where she collaborates with educators and astronomers nationwide to bring the wonders of the cosmos into Canadian classrooms.
