Free Software and Data to Get You Started

Check out the night sky! Stellarium is a free open source planetarium for your computer. It shows a realistic sky in 3D, just like what you see with the naked eye, binoculars or a telescope.

Ever wanted to see what research Canada is doing all over the word? The Canadian Astronomical Data Centre houses data taken with Canadian-partnered telescopes. Download and view data from telescopes like CFHT, Plaskett and Gemini.

Downloaded FITS files from CADC? You can view them here!

Can’t make it to the centre for one of our amazing planetarium shows? Enjoy a planetarium experience from home.
